Early in the morning yesterday the elephants from Barnum’s Funundrum made their way through downtown Los Angeles to the Staples Center. The circus opens today and runs through Sunday, July 18.
Reports in both the L.A. Times and the Huffington Post get a detail wrong. The train doesn’t drop the elephants off at Union Station, but at one of the rail yards further south (probably near Washington and Santa Fe based on pictures of the processional).
I learned this the hard way last year after getting up at 3:00 a.m. to see the elephants. I was at Union Station and was bitterly disappointed.
